A name, telephone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the outside provider that supplies the results. Kent County Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches. If you contact us, the message and the information included in it may be used to answer you.
Automatic Technical Information
Hosting systems may record ordinary log details such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of access. Aggregate use of that information helps maintain security, diagnose faults, and understand which reference pages are read. Cookies or comparable tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement.
How Limited Data Is Used
We use technical information to operate, secure, measure, and improve the service and to respond to messages. We do not sell a visitor list or create individual visitor profiles from ordinary usage logs.
External Record Links
Links lead to Kent County, Grand Rapids, Michigan, library, archive, and other outside resources. Their privacy rules apply once information is submitted to them. That includes sponsored search results and the provider operating the search forms.
Service Providers and Legal Requests
Hosting, analytics, and advertising service providers may process the technical information described above for the service. Information can also be disclosed when required by valid legal process. It is not otherwise shared as a visitor directory.
Security and Retention
The service uses an encrypted connection. Logs are kept only for the period reasonably needed for the operating and security purposes described here. Because there are no user accounts, there is no account password or stored personal profile to maintain.
Visitors Under 18
The reference service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has supplied information so the matter can be reviewed.
Requests About Your Data
You may ask about information kept in a contact message or ordinary server record by using the Contact page. Michigan research found no comprehensive state consumer-data-broker deletion or universal opt-out law that governs all public-record compilations. Official records are controlled by their custodian, not this private reference. For a public-record error, contact the agency with the instrument, case, parcel, or registration number and request its formal correction route.

A revised policy will appear at this address. Continued use after publication of a revision indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
